When in summer 2010 it was made official that in 10 months' time I was to be having my comeback in the boxing ring against the legendary Evander “the real deal” Holyfield, after 8 years with no training, and a knee surgery coming up, I was suddenly in a very difficult situation.
Luckily I met Personal Trainer Frank Naundrup. He promised to get me into the best possible shape, to go the distance.
The first 2 month was hard cardio and weight training; long bike rides sometimes over 2 hours in the mountains, to get me in good shape before the knee surgery.
First month after the surgery I was not allowed to move at all. After that it was 3 month of hard core training 2 times every day. Every morning was mostly rehabilitation training of my knee, then the second training was really REALLY hard cardio and weight training, Frank pushed me every night sometimes more than 2 hours to my limit, building up my muscles, and getting most of the fat I got over the last 8 years away. 16 kg lighter and in super shape I was when I was sent to Germany to start with my sparring partner.
Frank is one of the hardest and most motivating trainers I ever met, and I thank him a lot to be able to fight 10 good rounds against Evander Holyfield.
When I was 19 years old I decided to quit a promising cycling career. Within 1 year I gained around 30 kilos and I never seemed to loose them again. When I turned 40 I had enough of being fat and my friends gave me a gift at christmas: a gift-certificate to a gym and 5 months training with personal trainer Frank Naundrup.
We started training on the 2 of January 2006. My weight was at that time 117,8 kilos. I went to the gym 4-5 times a week and Frank joined me 3 times a week. My goal was to be around 100 kilos by mid april when me and my friends had our yearly fishing trip.
Frank put me on a intensive program, without changing my eating habits that much. I was very serious because I felt this was my chance to prove to myself and my friends, who were very jealous during the whole time, that I was able to reach my goal. The 11th of April my weight was down to 95,2 kg. After the 5 months with Frank I was down to 87,6kg.
For more than 20 years I have never been so fit and happy. After the 5 months I continued to work out with Frank's free help. He gave me instructions and a program to continue by myself. Frank taught me how to enjoy my work out. He changed my life and I hope others will have the same experience working with him. Thank you
At the age of 17 I moved up from the youth team to the first team in the best league in Denmark. The first 2 years I had a hard time getting time on the court and I had a hard time taking all the physical beating you get playing basketball.
The summer before I turned 20 I started to workout with my teammate and personal trainer Frank Naundrup. I really wanted to get some muscles. I went to the gym 3-4 times a week. In 15 weeks I gained 6kg of muscles and got much more speed at the same time. The following season I was in the starting lineup, and became one of the top scorers in the whole league. The highlight came when I got drafted to the Danish national team. I had not really worked out before but Frank helped me with the motivation. I give a lot of credit to Frank because of his way to make me work hard, and at the same time make it fun.
For 6 years I have played on the highest level in the Danish basketball league. The first 3 years I struggled with a lot of injuries, especially because I didn't really like to go to the gym and get my body ready for a hard season. The results were that I missed the playoffs because I was injured in the end of the season. I finally decided to follow Frank's training program to see if it helped. I gained on a few kg and at the same time I got more athletic and fit.
The last 3 seasons I haven't suffered from one injury at all and I played every single game 3 seasons straight. Frank showed me what fitness can do for you and also how to enjoy working out which was just as important for me.
From when I was 10 till 17 I used to do Karate three times a week . Suddenly I had too much and I stopped. My weight was 63kg at that time. For 6 months I did absolutely nothing which resulted in an 11 extra kilos. I tried to go to the gym because I felt the motivation was there. But nothing happened. I lost 3 kilos but gained it again. I stopped eating breakfast and I felt like I had tried everything to get rid of the weight. I decided to spend some money on a personal trainer.
I knew about Frank from one of his clients and I got in contact with him which was a very good decision. He made a program for me. I went to the gym with Frank twice a week and I went there once a week by myself. I didn't really change what I was eating but Frank told me to eat breakfast every morning and I did. I lost 10 kilos in 3 months and 3 weeks. What seemed to be impossible was now reality. In the beginning I was very motivated but even though I saw progress of the work out, I lost motivation after 2 months. Frank helped me continue and he reminded me of my goal and I kept on going. The following month Frank followed me once a week to make sure I didn't quit. He also gave me a program to continue. I am now fit and I am glad. It was a lot of money for me to spend on a personal trainer but it was absolutely worth it.
When I was younger I used to be very fit, but when I got older I started to gain on a lot of weight. My husband and I loved to have a glass of wine in the evening and after that a big ice cream at the bakery. We really ate a lot but didn't think about the consequences. Suddenly after 1 year and 3 months I had gained around 18 kilos. My grand children always tell me that I think to much of how I look which is probably right but even though I'm getting older I still want to look good, why not?! I had the money and I decided to try a personal trainer because I didn't know anything about fitness at all. I remember one time I went to a gym, just to see how much it would cost me and I meat Frank in the reception. We had a very quick chat and he gave me his business card.
I found the card in my wallet and I decided to call him. I was a little shy and didn't know if it would work for me. I had a free consultation and we talked about my goals and what I wanted to do with my body. Loose weight I told him. We started the 18. of September 2006 and my weight was 78 kilos at that time. Frank made a program for me and we went to the gym twice a week and beside that I walked a lot myself. After the first month I had lost 3 kilos which was a great start for me. Frank changed the program a couple of times because I could do more and more and I also became more and more confident and tried some of the machines. Sometime I was not as serious as I could have been but Frank really motivated me and made me have a good time. The 30. of April 2007 my weight was 62,3 kilos. I didn't believe it. My confidence had never been so high. I kept on going with Frank for another 6 weeks, just once a week. He gave me a new program which I had to use in the future. I bought a training bike, a row machine and a running machine, which were the three machines I used the most. I didn't have to go to the gym now I kept on doing the work out at home with my husband.
In my young days I used to be very skinny and fit. My body was just perfect. When I turned 36 I had a mental illness and I had to take a lot of medicine. The medicine made me eat a lot more than I used to and I gained on 16 kilos in 1,5 year. I felt so bad looking in the mirror and my confidence was nothing.
I decided to try a personal trainer because I never went to a gym and I simply didn't know where to start. Frank made a program for me when my weight said 68,3kg. Most of it was cycle, step,rowing and walk/run. I was very skeptical in the beginning because I was a woman at 42 and I was actually a little shy. It changed my eating habbits a little but not much, for example I stopped eating a bag of chips every night. I went to the gym 3 times a week and Frank followed me twice a week. The 1 month I lost 4,5 kilos. I was so happy I started to enjoy going to the gym because I saw progress. Ater 4 months and 2 weeks my weight was down to 55,1 which was around my goal. Frank kept on going with me for a month to keep an eye on me and that was what I needed, and he told me how to continue without his help. I had a very good time with Frank. There was time for fun but at the same time he was very serious and he was very good at motivating an old lady like me. I'm very satisfied with the result. I hope my story can make other do the same thing.
